So I joined Delta Sigma Pi, and I went to my first meeting tonight. The guy in charge of new pledges is nice, and we were each assigned duties to perform during our time as pledges. We have to do a lot of activities for DSP, like host a fundraiser, do service events, invite a speaker and things like that. My job is to organize service, so I'm pretty excited because there are a lot of good service opportunities at this school.I've started reading a really good book a few days ago called Shutter Island, like the movie that's coming out. I can NOT put this book down. It's fantastic. Dennis Lehane is the author; he also wrote Mystic River and Gone, Baby, Gone. Both of those were made into films and have been nominated for Academy Awards, only one of them, Mystic River, won any. Needless to say, the guy is good. I'm really excited to see the movie. Max Von Sydow plays one of the doctors; he is a great actor. He's also been in films such as Minority Report and The Exorcist. As you have probably seen, Leonardo DiCaprio is in the movie as well, along with Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo and Michelle Williams. Like always, the book will probably be better than the movie, but I'll still be anxious to see it.
Anyways, time to get back to homework. I'm going to see The Lovely Bones tomorrow, so I'll let you know what I think of it next time!
