Hey guys!
This week at Rockhurst is Hawk Wild Week, sponsored by SAB. Today they had a medieval theme for the activities; you could play ring toss with giant hula hoops and a huge inflatable red dragon, and the prize was a jeweled gold cup. I'm not sure if they're sticking with the same theme throughout the week or continuing every day with different themes. It should be pretty cool either way, though.
So I haven't talked about movies that are out in quite a long time, so here it goes!
Everyone has been saying that How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing movie, and judging by the 98% it received from Rotten Tomatoes I'd have to agree. Although I have not seen it, I have heard good things from both friends and reviewers. A chick flick called The Back-up Plan, starring Jennifer Lopez and some actor I've never heard of, was released a few days ago. It received a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. Romantic comedies never seem to score very well with this website. Titanic only scored 83%, The Notebook only 52% and The Last Song only 18%. I did see Kick-Ass the day after it came out. It was a very good movie. Nicholas Cage's acting has been sliding downhill ever since The Rock and he did a somewhat good job in this movie. The other actors did very good jobs. I really enjoyed watching it. It received a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
There are lots of tours going on lately! Bright and early I'll see groups going on tours of the campus or of my residence hall. Sometimes we'll be in the lobby of Corcoran watching Jeopardy at 4:30 (like always) and a tour will walk in. They must think we're totally nuts for trying to shout the answers at the television, and I hope that doesn't dissuade them from enrolling here. Even if some of us are a bit crazy.
School ends in 2 1/2 weeks! I can't believe it! This semester has gone by very quickly. I'm happy and sad to be going back to Texas. Happy because it will be warm (it's about 55 here right now), sad because I'll be leaving all my Rockhurst friends. But I'm visiting St. Louis over the summer so I'll get to see at least some of them.
I'll talk to you guys later!

Last week was Greek Week, and it was a blast, even for me (I'm not in a sorority). The most enjoyable event to watch was the Greek Olympics. There were a variety of events, including wheelbarrow, three-legged race, tug-o-war, an Oreo eating contest and slip-n-sliding. Pi Kappa Alpha (a fraternity) won most of the events. Overall, from what I hear, Alpha Sigma Alpha (sorority) placed first overall, Theta Phi Alpha (sorority) placed second and Alpha Delta Gamma (fraternity) placed third.
For the past week or so my phone hasn't been charging. I mean it will once I get the charger in a specific, exact position. The charger plug has to be positioned inside my phone in such a way or else it won't charge. It takes me about 5 minutes until I can get it in the right spot. And even then, it might not stay charging for the entire night, and then it will die. So I'm phone hunting right now. I've narrowed it down to a few possibilities. Here's the list:
1. Samsung Sunburst - a touchscreen phone (which I've never had). It has a lot of cool features, and it just became available for AT&T. Photo courtesy of cnet.com

2. Motorola Backflip - touch screen with a slide-out keyboard.

3. HTC Tilt2- touch screen phone.

These are just a few of the ones I have picked out. I'll be making decisions on which one to buy in the next couple days. I'll let you guys know!

Back from Easter Break!
Chicago was absolutely amazing. The day I got there my sister and I got deep-dish pizza (first time I've had it) and it was deeeelicious. I cannot describe how good it was. It was the thickest crust I have ever seen in my entire life. Below is a picture.

The next day I went shopping downtown, which was a lot of fun, while my sister was at work. After that we stopped by Millennium Park and took some pictures of this awesome sculpture called The Bean. Here's a picture of it:

You can walk underneath it and the reflections are crazy cool. We also walked up around the park and took more cool pictures.

The next day we stopped by Chinatown to pick up some really good lunch and Easter candy. Pocky is delicious (which is biscuit sticks dipped in chocolate), they have good gummies and then this stuff called Yan Yan (basically the same as Pocky except you dip the biscuits yourself). After that was Easter, and my brother-in-law cooked really delicious brunch consisting of fig-glazed ham, Easter pie (eggs, ricotta cheese and swiss chard), fruit salad, challah French toast with coffee whipped cream and raspberry puff pastries. The day after was Monday, the day I had to leave. I went to work with my sister and while she was working I walked around Chicago. I went up to the Hancock Building and took some awesome pictures on the 94th floor.
All in all, it was a great trip. I'm very glad that I went. I'll be going back this summer for Lollapalooza, a music festival that takes place every summer. The bands playing are Soundgarden, Green Day, Lady GaGa, Wolfmother, The Black Keys, Minus the Bear, Spoon and many more. I'm very excited :)
Until next week!
