I went back to Dallas for my break, and when I went back the weather was probably 50 degrees and cloudy. I drove back up to Kansas City for Christmas with my family, and the snow here was incredible! I've never seen so much snow. And we spent Christmas morning watching people get their cars stuck in front of my grandma's house. We saw quite a few people trying to drive down residential streets when their cars got stuck in snow banks. Don't worry, we helped them. And the picture below is of me and my sister during winter break. As you can see, we're wearing t-shirts. Because it was about 70 degrees in Texas once we got back on New Year's.

As far as Christmas gifts are concerned, I didn't ask for much because I can't fit much in my dorm room. I got some DVDs, including Up, The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, 500 Days of Summer and Burn After Reading. I also got some clothes and gift cards.
The rest of my break went well. I worked at my dad's office for a few weeks, so hey making money is always a plus. Hanging out with friends was awesome, of course. I spent almost every day with my best friends. All-in-all, it was a break well-spent.
So time for my movie reviews! I got to see quite a few over the break. Avatar was good, but not great. I don't understand why people were raving about it. It was basically like Pocahontas with super awesome graphics. The plot was predictable, the script was average. The visual effects were astounding, though. Especially in 3D. Daybreakers was not that great. I expected more from a cast of Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill. They all were okay in their roles, I suppose. The beginning of the movie was good, and I think the basis of the movie was great, but as it went on it just deteriorated. And the ending was terrible. Sherlock Holmes was fantastic. It was funny yet logically entertaining. I really liked it, and I think Robert Downey Jr. and Ethan Hawke did a great job.
So...yeah! I hope everyone gets back into the swing of things, and I'll be back next week!
